Daily update is a quick, efficient meeting for teammates to share status updates and priorities. It allows teams to streamline their work, cut out redundant status updates, and spend more time managing the flow of their work.

To enable daily updates in your Action, configure one of your Action’s intents as the triggering intent for this feature. When users invoke this intent, your Action will automatically open a conversation and prompt them to subscribe to daily updates. When you prompt them to subscribe, be thoughtful when designing the prompt. It’s best to offer a subscription prompt after showing the user the benefit of your Action, and avoid repeating the prompt in multiple contexts.

Once a user subscribes to your daily update, they’ll receive an Assistant notification on their device at their scheduled time each day. If you want to customize the content of the daily update notification, configure a mid-conversation registration prompt or add a suggestion chip in your Action’s response. To make your daily update notifications more useful for users, review the best practices for creating useful notifications for Assistant. To test your daily updates, use a Google Assistant-enabled phone or smart display. You can also create a system scene that includes the daily update subscription flow, then trigger it using the Actions simulator.
